Yom Haatzmaut

70 years....it was so fun!  And I was so excited to be part of it!!!

After Yom HaZikaron ceremony at my son's school, we headed to Tel Aviv to go see Independence Hall and learn about the history of Tel Aviv.  Super amazing what this city has become in 120 years.  We walked part of the new Independence Path which took us to the Great Synagogue as well.

they have great cookies in Tel Aviv.

A few quick highlights:

Adam's parents joined us, and we watched kids (not just ours) pretty much wreck the streets and cars with silly string and spray snow till midnight..that's about the extent of the scandalous behavior.

We were in central Tel Aviv, right where the action was, which was exciting knowing that 70 years earlier, declaration was declared at the same city (the hall we saw earlier that day).  It was concerts and fireworks!

Thursday morning, we watched paratroopers and Israeli Air Force fly-bys.  We walked to Yaffo too.

On Friday night, we went to a beautiful port kabbalat shabbat service overlooking the mediterranean with people from around the world.

And this is what the streets look like after midnight....cans of spray sheleg and silly string...

And a week later, my passport finally arrived.  NO MORE VISA PROBLEMS EVER.
