Matan's thoughts

Matan has decided he would like to be an astronaut painter. He would paint other planets while visiting them.  He would like to paint a happy face on the moon.

Matan has become very fascinated by gravity.  Yesterday he asked why a ball stays in the air while playing catch if there is gravity.  We had to explain how gravity is making the ball arc down...then Matan spent the rest of the day testing gravity.  He demonstrated how going up stairs were very hard because of gravity, but going down the slide was gravity pushing him down.  Of course, he got confused when the slide had some friction and wasn't coming down.  We spoke of how when you are tired, you just want to give in to gravity and lay down...he made some nice dramatization of that last night, when I had to carry him somewhere because "i can't fight gravity".

Recently, I watched the documentary "Raising Creativity" and in that documentary, it spoke of how children will develop for themselves a more rigorous curriculum than we ever would if we let them dictate their own education.
Matan was a good example of that yesterday.
