What I love and what I miss
Love:
kosher food
being Jewish is sooo easy.
hearing Hebrew
kid-friendly everywhere
people love kids
swimming
being closer to Jerusalem than where I work at home!
the coffee
the chocolate croissants
having so much so close
the amazing friends who have helped and hosted us.
Miss:
toilet paper and soap in every bathroom (really...sometimes Israel can get so third world!)
American appliances...especially my laundry machine.
my bed.
Kay, our babysitter
These are the first things that come to mind!
An interesting thing about Israel that doesn't happen elsewhere is that everyone asks you if you are moving here. More than that, they ask why aren't you and why don't you. And they often try to convince you to make aliyah. I can't imagine someone visiting america and saying "why don't you move here already?"
