okay, i can't lie. this was taken the week before at the mcleoud county fair, but there are cows at the mn state fair too.
there's a butterfly on sivan's foot!
Sivan Reyna ate at the state fair like a true minnesotan! wonder if she'll ever like peas again...
Yasmine started her new job as a professor at North Hennepin Community College. It's going pretty well so far. But on to the exciting developments in the Kalkstein house. Tsipi is molting again. Sivan, at 8 months, has started crawling in the last couple days. She is still working on it, so we haven't had to chase her all over yet. She also has really begun babbling a lot. I thought we might send her off to kindergarten sayig only "bababa" but she now does D sounds, M sounds, N sounds, W, Y, and H (are you bored yet by these details?). today, she said dadeee so it seems we've also moved into a new vowel (eee). she is really good at communicating. we're not sure she'll need to talk because she makes it quite clear what she's thinking (usually it's "I LOVE THIS!!" (accompanied by flailing arms) or "I HATE THIS!!!" (i.e., why are you pinning me down on this diaper changing table!?!?)...honestly...are there any other emotions that are really that important?)
